Meeting with International Wushu Federation

On the afternoon of June 26, Zhang Yuping, Secretary-General of the International Martial Arts Federation, warmly met with the visiting Swedish Martial Arts Association President Peter Finnsio and his delegation in Beijing. Both sides held in-depth exchanges on the development of wushu in Sweden and Europe, the bidding process for related International Wushu events, and the recent positive progress of wushu on the international stage.

Meeting with Chinese Wushu Association

On June 11, Chen Chong, Vice President of the Chinese Wushu Association and Deputy Director of the Wushu Center of the General Administration of Sport, and Li Yongqiang met with Finnsio, President of the Swedish Kung fu & Wushu Federation. The two sides held in-depth discussions on strengthening Wushu exchanges and jointly expanding Wushu’s influence.

Vincent Olsson klar för Junior-OS

För första gången i historien har Sverige kvalificerat sig till Youth Olympic Games (YOG) i wushu!
Detta är en verklig milstolpe – inte bara för svensk wushu, utan även internationellt. YOG i Dakar, Senegal, blir nämligen första gången någonsin som wushu finns med som en officiell olympisk gren.
Endast 12 atleter i världen har kvalificerat sig i varje gren. Sverige har tilldelats en plats i Changquan–Gunshu Combined, och Svenska Kung fu & Wushuförbundet har tillsammans med SOK nominerat Vincent Olsson, 17 år, från Stockholms Wushu Kung Fu IF.
